Reflections is an album of instrumental love songs. It features David Carovillano's "Reflections Suite" for multiple clarinets & piano, and "Reminiscence" for clarinet quintet.

01. Daydream for E flat clarinet
You wouldn't expect a delicate piece to be performed on the little "piccolino" clarinet. The baby of the clarinet family's perky treble cuts through an orchestra but it rarely gets a chance to shine as a solo instrument. In "Daydream", the delicate shimmer of the piano chords set a wistful mood for the E flat. Imagine sitting under a tree on a beautiful day, staring up at the clouds, freeing your mind to wander. The florid passages and fluid interplay between the piano and clarinet are carefree, youthful, joyous and optimistic.

02. Wandering for A Clarinet
Like a waltz from yesteryear, "Wandering" is a dream-like dance. The piano and clarinet are like a couple in love, wandering through life hand in hand. The clarinet's broad melodic lines embrace the piano's lush harmonies; together on a journey through whatever twists and turns life may bring.

03. Clouded Focus for Bass Clarinet
The deep tenor of the bass clarinet searches its way through a thick fog. It is guided through the smokey darkness by a beautiful piano countermelody as it sings its way to clarity. Overwhelmed with emotion, the piano and clarinet reach a stormy climax, finally clearing the air only to find themselves back where they began but with clear purpose and perspective.

04. I Remember for B flat Clarinet
Aging brings wisdom, the building of inner strength and the collection of beautiful memories. Like thumbing through old photographs, "I Remember" is touching and reflective. The long, soaring melody of the clarinet and the steadfast rhythm of the piano present a nostalgic performance, remembering the glory of youth while yearning to know what the future will bring.


05. Reminiscence for Clarinet Quintet
The combination of multiple clarinets and bass clarinet create a glorious, full, sound that is rich, woody, clear and sincere; sincere because the clarinet's tone is like wearing your heart on your
